This lecture is so great I just have to share. So you see that even in the South, the government became federal, not local. And you see the war was not about state's rights.


 

馃槉 Two things you see. The South was right that slaves would become welfare dependents.[They said that it was white people that were taking care of them because they could not take care of themselves. ] Also they said the slaves would try to destroy the USA as we see today.

But the great lesson of the Civil War is the endurance of the USA Constitution and this kind of government. And the ability of this kind of government to tackle difficult issues.
