I am fairly impressed with American Nationalism because it is not a blank approval of all kinds of nationalism, but rather sees something special about the principles upon which the USA was founded: Natural Law and Natural Rights. These are things that Hegel himself would have greatly approved of even though his system was hijacked by the Left.----------------------------- A state is not a goal, rather it should be a means to a goal, that goal should be the benefit of the people. I might mention that nationalism attached to the soil is first brought by Simon DeMonfort in his war against Henry III. “England for the English.” However, plain nationalism I saw extreme versions of this in the war between Athens and Sparta in the history of that war.as far as the main idea goes i tend to think like the pledge of allegiance that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the USA--because of the principles for which it stands, not as a thing in itself. and as for the basis of nationalism recommend learning Howard Bloom's The Lucifer Principle, and Hegel.
