Belief in God is rational. Everything has a cause. So unless there is a first cause, then you would have an infinite regress. And then nothing could exist. Therefore there must be a first cause. Therefore God, the first cause, exists. QED.

I would like to suggest that neither Isaac nor Rebeka knew where Laban was. They thought that they would send Jacob to Mesopotamia where Nachor was. [Laban was the son of Nahor.] But on the way to Mesopotamia, Jacob encountered the spring with the rock over it, and decided to lend a helping hand. In the meantime, he asked the people there if they knew anything about Laban, and to his surprise, they had, and said in fact he lives here, and here come Rachel, his daughter, to draw water from the spring. You can see that neither Isaac nor Rebeka sent him to Charan, but to where they thought Laban lived with his father. [They sent him to Padan Aram--Mesopotamia] Obviously in the meantime Laban had picked himself up, and moved to Charan-------------------------------------------I would like to suggest that neither יצחק nor רבקה knew where לבן was. They thought that they would send יעקב to Mesopotamia where נחור was. [לבן was the son of נחור.] But on the way to Mesopotamia, יעקב encountered the spring with the rock over it, and decided to lend a helping hand. {That was in Haran, about half way between Mesopotamia and the land of Canaan.} In the meantime, he asked the people their if they knew anything about לבן and to his surprise they had, and said in fact he lives here and here come רחל his daughter to draw water from the spring. You can see that neither יצחק nor רבקה sent him to חרן, but to where they thought לבן lived with his father. Obviously in the meantime לבן had picked himself up, and moved to חרן
